Rubbish bins are provided for household waste that cannot go in your recycling bin. Your rubbish bin will have either a red or burgundy lid and is collected weekly from the Beaufort and Avoca areas and fortnightly from the rural areas, from the roadside outside your home. The maximum weight limit is 70kg. Acceptable item: ✅ Clothing and textiles ✅ Crockery and ceramics ✅ Disposable nappies ✅ Drinking glasses ✅ Foam ✅ Food scraps ✅ Garden waste ✅ Light bulbs ✅ Mirrors and broken window glass ✅ Heat-proof dishes e.g. Pyrex ✅ Preferably Plastic bags and Soft Plastics can be placed into Councils free Orange Bag opt in program and placed into the recycling bin. Alternately the soft plastics can be placed into landfill. ✅ Plastic food tray with no code number ✅ Polystyrene (expanded e.g. foam) Unacceptable items ❌ Building materials ❌ Car batteries ❌ Gas bottles ❌ Hazardous waste or chemicals ❌ Oil, used engine oil ❌ Paint ❌ Recyclable items ❌ Soft Plastics ❌ Rocks and soil

Glass bins are provided for household recycling. Your Glass bin will have a purple lid and is collected monthly, from the roadside outside your home. The maximum weight limit is 70kg. What CAN go in the glass bin? ✅ Glass bottles✅ Glass jars, lids to be recycled What CAN’T go in the glass bin? Garden Organic bins are provided for household recycling. Your Garden Organics bin will have a lime green lid and is collected monthly, from the roadside outside your home. The maximum weight limit is 70kg.
